Kenneth Leroy Davis

Kenneth L. Davis, 91, of LaBelle, Fla., formerly of Cortland, Ohio, passed away December 1, 2023 at Cedarbrook Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Myers, Fla. Ken was born September 23, 1932 in Clarksburg, W. Va. to parents Arthur O. Davis and Dorothy M. (Cain) Davis.

Ken was a 1950 graduate of Victory High School in Clarksburg, where he played football and softball and was active in DeMolay fraternal organization. After moving to Ohio in 1951, Ken became prominent in several organizations. He earned the rank of 32nd degree Mason, and was a member of the Old Erie Lodge #3 of the Free and Accepted Masons. He also joined the Ali Baba Grotto, as well as the Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as president.

Ken married the former Lois Starkey on July 1, 1951, and both were avid horseback riders throughout their lives. Ken was a 4-H advisor, and was a member of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office mounted unit for eight years. He was also commissioned to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

Ken worked for Copperweld Steel in Warren, Ohio for 32 years, and retired from his position as yardmaster in 1990. After retirement, Ken and Lois moved to LaBelle, Fla.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents; brother, Charles Davis; and daughter, Belinda Bodkin.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Laurie (John) Markovich of Cortland, Ohio; son, Kenneth R. Davis of North Palm Beach, Fla.; son-in-law, Timothy Bodkin; grandchildren; Kristine Agel, Jeremy Markovich, John Markovich, Christopher Davis, Richard Davis, and Jason Bodkin; great-grandchildren, Sahara Agel, Allison Agel, Ethan Markovich, Henry Markovich, Charles Markovich, Holly Markovich, Kayden Davis, Mason Davis, Jordyn Bodkin, Mark Southwick, and Alessia Ferrguia-Bodkin; sister, Roberta (Robert) Jacob of Ohio; brother, Lennis (Cathy) Davis of Pennsylvania.

A graveside service will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, Ft. Myers, Fla.
