Howard Lee Roper Jr., age 72, of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. He was born in Colorado on July 16, 1952.
He served in the US Navy for 8 years before going to work for the Department of Defense for 15. After moving to New Orleans he worked for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office until he retired.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Julie; children: Ryan (Alicia) Roper, Justin Roper, Thomas Rose, Chaim (Karen) Rose, and Howard (Alyssa) Roper III; grandchildren: Kayden Roper, Kaleb Roper, TJ Rose, Izabella Rose, Tyler Rose, Zelda Rose, Benjamin Rose, Howard Roper IV and Cirilla Roper; and great granddaughter, Neveah Rose. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Elswick and his sister Charlene Elswick.
Interment will take place in Iowa at a later date.
