Kenneth Levon Rowley 82, of Polson passed away of natural causes Dec 18, 2022 at his home in Fort Mojave, AZ. Ken was born June 8, 1940 to Albert Levon and Ethel Clarissa (Dalton) Rowley and raised in Salt Lake City, UT with his siblings, Ron and Jan. After graduating high school, Ken served honorably in the Utah Army National Guard as a combat engineer from 1961-66. He then followed his parents to Polson, MT. Ken had an entrepreneurial spirit and had several careers throughout his life. He was best known as a talented boat mechanic. Over the next 40 years, he did everything from OTR trucking, managing Borchers Marina on Finley Point, and building Rowley's RV/Boat Storage in Pablo, MT, along with many passionate projects in between. Fishing, flying and boats were in his DNA and he went from fishing the high mountain lakes of the Swan Valley to flying over them in his Kitfox experimental airplane. Ken was also civically-minded and volunteered with the Finley Point Fire Department and Lake County Search and Rescue, serving as their president in the mid-80’s. After retirement, he became a snowbird splitting his time between MT and AZ. Among all of Ken’s achievements, he was most proud of his children who cherish their memories of growing up in the Mission Valley.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, Albert Levon and Ethel Rowley; brother-in-law Gene Overson. He is survived by his brother, Ronald Rowley of Salt Lake City, UT; sister, Janet Ann Overson of Hurricane, UT; children, Wendy Alt of Stevensville, MT, Brent (Beth) Rowley of Polson, MT, Stephen (Heather) Rowley of Madras, OR, David (Cher) Rowley of Missoula, MT, Mathew (Missy) Rowley of Helena, MT; step-daughter, Sheri (Eric) Mann of Reno, NV; and a herd of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial will take place this summer.
