Pradel Bernard

Funeral service will be held at 10:30am on May 27th 2023, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Fritz Thomas of Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn West. Arrangements are by Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Pradel Bernard was born in Cayes, Haiti to Marie Louise Almeda and Bernabe Bernard on April 9th 1941. He attended his primary school at Paraguay in Port-au-Prince and moved on to secondary school at Lycee Petion, also in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Pradel Bernard worked as a mechanic in Haiti for many years before he moved to New York. When he relocated to the states, he moved on to working as a school bus driver for 18 years, before retiring in 2008. Pradel Bernard married Jocelyne Bernard on May 27th 1987.

Pradel Bernard was a great husband, father, friend, and leader. He was loved by many for the compassion and dedication he had for his family. He loved his wife unconditionally and made her existence a priority in everything he worked for. He loved his children and grandchildren. He loved sports and was a great part of his church community. Pradel will be remembered as the foundation of his family and will be remembered for his courage, willingness, sacrifice, and dedication.

Pradel Bernard is survived by his wife Jocelyne Bernard and children: Sony Bernard, Vladimir Marseille, Carline Marseille, Patricia Bernard; His grandchildren: Carlianna Marseille, Mac Gaudin II, Malcolm Gaudin, Malik Gaudin, Sophia Bernard, David Bernard, Jaydan Bernard, and Eithan Bernard. His Sibling: Omanesse Bernard, Carobert Bernard, Jean Michel Bernard, Edelle Bernard, Odette Bernard, and Laguerre Oreste, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family of Pradel Bernard wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone that is here today and for those who have sent their condolences. We would also like to thank the medical staff and nurses who cared for Pradel Bernard.
