Monserrate Caraballo was born in Mayaguez, PR to Mr R. Trabal & Mrs. Carmen Trabal on October 15, 1927. She attended school while living in Puerto Rico, and worked as a Seamstress for 40 years.
She absolutely loved the arts. She was a singer, and an actress in theater productions. She appeared in printed novelas, and on WHBI FM radio as well under the stage name of Gina Trabal.
She was a very loving & caring person, Mother, Grandparent & Great grandparent. She had 3 children but unfortunately buried 2 during her lifetime- a Daughter & Son. In her loving way she helped to raise some of her grandchildren. She was always willing to help where she could and was a compassionate person. She went to Homestead during the aftermath of hurricane Andrew to distribute water & supplies on her own accord. She was amazing & truly loved.
Monserrate is preceded in death by her parents Mr & Mrs. Trabal, son Amado Ruiz, partner Pablo Caraballo, & Daughter Violeta. Monserrate is survived by Daughter Diana Works, grandchildren Pelegrin & Elias (Shayne) Soriano, Juan, Willy, & Ricardo Ruiz and all their children, her great grandaughter-Marley Amour Soriano, and adopted daughter Melinda West
