On Monday Dec 14, 2020, Kevin R Ray—the ultimate gentleman—passed suddenly and peacefully in his sleep at the age of 62. Kevin was born to Loren and Nancy (Herman) Ray. Throughout his adult life he worked in the jewelry industry and most recently was the Merchandising Specialist and Special Events Coordinator at Jay Feder Jewelers of Boca Raton.
Kevin was a “Ray” of sunshine to all who knew him. When he walked into a room, you could feel his genuine warmth and effortless class. Kevin had a heart of gold and opened it to all. His involvement in local charities was telling of his character and his community involvement. An older woman in her nineties lived next to Kevin. True to his character, when he purchased flowers (which he did often) he also purchased her flowers and left them at her door. He had unmatched etiquette and was known for his heartfelt handwritten letters of thanks or support. Let’s not forget his debonair style, impeccable taste, eye for decorating, and his passion for fun.
Kevin had a way of making life more beautiful and fun with his laughter, nonstop energy, and dedication to enjoying life to its fullest. Really, who could keep up? His presence was far reaching. He maintained close relationships with his friends from Williamsport, Wilmington, Richmond and many cities in southeast Florida. With Kevin, life was the ultimate celebration! To his friends who knew him well, he would ask that you chill a bottle of his favorite champagne, pop it open, and toast to his life. Raise your glass and hear Kevin giving this toast of encouragement and love: “To my friends, I thank you all for the best possible life, may you all continue to uphold my traditions and continue to enjoy life while remembering me in your hearts. I will miss the time we have together but know I will always be with you. Until we meet again for the ultimate champagne polo party ever! Cheers!”
Kevin was greeted in Heaven by his father Loren and his mother Nancy. He is survived by his best friend and sister Candace, his niece Shadi, nephew Holt, his sidekick Gabby, and a plethora of friends he considered family. A Celebration of Life service will be planned after the new year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue. https://www.peggyadams.org
