Kenneth R. Smith

Ken was born in Crossett, AR to Howard K. Smith of Arkansas and Mona E. Lovette of Louisiana on February 14, 1944. He married the love of his life, Janie Lou O'Briant on June 20, 1964 in Greenville, Mississippi.

He attended and graduated from Oklahoma University and the University of Alabama with his Masters degree in Accounting. He served faithfully in the United States Air Force for 20 years until his retirement on September 30, 1983. He worked as an auditor for the military, the Broward County Airport and the Port of Everglades until his retirement in April of 2011.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Opal Smith and Charlie and Mona (Smith) Chapman as well as his sister Betty Ann Bozeman of Arkansas.

Ken is survived by His wife, Janie of 56 years, his four children Katherine Siegel and husband Alan of Lauderhill, FL, Retired USAF Technical Sargent Kenneth R Smith II of Coral Springs, FL, Judith Smith of Lauderdale Lakes, FL, and Cassandra Rochford and husband Scott of North Lauderdale, FL; Brother Riley Howard Smith of Texas. Grandchildren: Joshua Siegel, Desirée Siegel, Maeghen Siegel, Allyssa Esham, Matthew Orrock, Lexi Smith, Brandon Smith, Logan Smith, Jeremiah (J.J.) Rochford, Elijah Rochford and Rachael Rochford and 2 Great Grandchildren: Annabella Esham and Amaya Flores.

Pallbearers will be Ken Smith, Alan Siegel, Scott Rochford, Brandon Smith, Logan Smith and Jeremiah (J.J.) Rochford. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Siegel, Matthew Orrock, and Elijah Rochford.

Closed Ceremony Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, March 19th at South Florida National Cemetery in West Palm Beach, FL. Celebration of life will be held at Calvary Chapel North Lauderdale, Thursday, March 18th at 5pm.
