Mom, it's been 17 days since your death and there are no words to describe the profound loss I feel. I have the best memories of you, most of them singing (:). I realize all the truths you tried to share and that you did the very best you could to raise us based upon the life experiences you had. I never  heard you complain about the challenge of raising 7 children and taking care of your mother by yourself, you just did it! It made me aware of what an amazing woman you were and I am humbled to think that I will try to be the mother to Imani that you were to me. I enjoyed our time together as a child when you would take me to school and the time and care you took to ensure that I was clean and neat. The time we spent during your illness was special. But I know you are fine now. I  look forward to seeing you in the earth made new, in "that great getting up morning"! I will see you in the first soprano section, front row!

Grandma - I don't know how to say goodbye to the person who has known me since birth. I have had you around for 34 years It is hard to imagine not having you around for 34 more. We have laughed, cried, sang, danced, prayed, traveled, talked, fought, cooked, played, learned, read, goofed off and smelled fingers together. I don't know how or where to begin to express how much I miss and love you.
I am truly blessed that you were able to see me grow to become a woman but most importantly, a mother. It meant so much to me when you said that I was a “really great mommy” to Jaden .  When I have doubts about how to raise my son, I remember that compliment from the Best Mother I know!!! (Mommie ain't too bad either).
I loved our Thursday calls because I loved making you laugh. (I can still hear you say "Angel you are a nut!" while chuckling.) I loved talking to you about everything from recipes to me always having to laugh so hard you have to go to the bathroom. We told each other stories and secrets, shared recipes, prayed, and talked about darn near everything from the weather to “whatever happened to”.
I treasured the days we would go and run errands together.  (I still don't how you went harder and longer than I did.) You made sure our day was filled from 7a-6p and you still would go home and cook for me! We definitely added miles to our legs, not to mention my car, when running the streets. 
I adored when you sang. You made family, friends, parishioners, ALL of my friends and complete strangers cry when we heard your angelic voice. Your passion and emotion while singing (you KILLED those Sandi Patty Songs) sent chills through me. The notes you hit were so powerful and amazing I still hear and feel them.
You have always been there for me in more ways than I can imagine. You made sure I was ALWAYS: on my spiritual G-A-M-E, happy, smart, fed, informed, determined, enlightened, and of course - dressed to the 9's. You are the ultimate DIVA and I am DEFINITELY blessed to have been your granddaughter.  
What I can promise is that: I will not say goodbye, I will still look at your pictures, and hear your voice in my head. Although you are not in your body, you are definitely in my heart and memories.  Though I may not be able to see you, I can feel your love. I hear myself say your phrases, make your faces, and watch as I follow parts of your path and I know that you are never farther than a memory or picture away.  I will love you more than I ever told you and miss you more than you'll ever know!!! All my love and forever in my heart ~ Angel

Grandma - My fondest memory of you is our talk during the Christmas I visited you and Angel's parents in Vegas. I remembered when you opened your Christmas gift from me and you smiled and gave me a big hug and kiss. That moment made me feel like I was truly apart of the family. I will miss talking on the phone with you, running to the store and bringing you Dr Pepper and hearing you read to Jaden. I am very blessed to have known  the person that helped create Sweetness, Angel and Jaden. You will forever be in my heart - Love Always JD

Big Nana - I am happy that you are in Heaven with the Angels and that I have you looking out for me. I am looking foward to seeing you in Heaven so that I can play soccer with you - Love Jaden
