Jeana East was born on June 7, 1958 to parents Aubrey Myers and Evelyn Parchment in St. Elizabeth (Junction), Jamaica. This is where she spent her time until her young adult years. Jeana, also known as Jean, attended Ballards Valley Primary School, Junction High School, and Goshan Academy. She then migrated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1982. Shortly after moving, Jeana started working at a local store. This is where she met her husband, Wayne East. Wayne and Jean got married in June of 1985. This union produced two smart, wonderful and loving children, Dane and Brittany. Jean started her employment and career with Westside Regional Medical Center in the early 80’s in dietary and eventually transitioned into the PBX department. Her voice was loved and well recognized throughout the hospital. She enjoyed her working environment and met many lifelong friends. Jeana loved her family unconditionally and always moved with style and grace. She loved to laugh and hear others laugh. Jeana loved new experiences, traveling with her family, shopping, chatting on the phone with friends and family, watching popular reality or series television shows and most recently, taking care of the family cat, Blizzard. She had a sweet tooth and a love for fresh flowers (especially roses and orchids). Jeana had a cautious and careful but loving personality. She always strived to have the best outcome in any situation. Along with her husband Wayne, Jeana made sure that their children made education a priority and provided them with unconditional support and love throughout their childhood and adulthood years. She also made sure that her children were always taken care of and out of harms way. Jeana remained strong and was a fighter for life until she departed on April 8, 2023. Jeana is survived by her husband of 37 years, Wayne, her son Dane, his wife April, her daughter Brittany, and granddaughter Madison. She is also survived by 5 brothers, 6 sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
