The South Florida Chamber Ensemble mourns the loss of out patron and supporter Gojko. He was a kindred spirit and the most joyful person I have ever met. I worked with Gojko at Berklee and was assigned to several Auditions trips with him.  Always a pleasure to work with and always considerate and kind to others.  A true gentleman. Rest In Peace Gojko..

I still remember the framed photo of Giorgio in his Berklee office in 2009, Gojko’s smile and the warmth in his voice when he talked about Gio, lovingly with pride.

Apart from his humor and inspiring confidence, Gojko’s unique talent was timing. He never gave unsolicited advice but knew exactly when you were ready for what he had to say. And, of course, he was always right.

He empowered me not only as an artist but also as a fellow “Yugoslav”. In a way he became a bridge that helped me connect and embrace that integral  part of my identity. 

Gojko, my dear friend, thank you for your guidance and support. Our friendship meant the world to me and life won’t be the same without you in it. I am heartbroken I won’t get to introduce you to my kids or meet for a coffee in your favorite spot in Belgrade (you always knew the best places, everywhere).

I’ll be missing you.

I’ve been thinking of Gojko since I heard. I keep thinking of his energy and smile and the stories he shared. One was about being on a televised production and walking onstage to play violin during a very somber scene, but he was thinking more that you should smile on t.v. So he entered the scene with a giant grin. 

My sincere condolences to his family and those closest to him.

Gojko, what a star have you been in my life. 
You were the answer to all my doubts and fears. You've been so supportive to me, in so many ways. 
Your fantastic energy, voice and smile are so very vivid in my mind. 
I could have listen you for hours.
You brought me the light and show me the way without asking anything in retour. 
I will miss you, your voice, your presence, but I will specially miss your fantastic smile and energy.
We'll meet again one day, and till that day, I'll keep a part of you in my heart and my dreams.

I’m heartbroken, can’t even believe this. He helped me get into BERKLEE. In 1996 I called him weekly from Switzerland to check on my application and in January 97 we finally met and realized we are both from the same country. During my four years of college, he was constantly checking in on me and we stayed in touch. I’m a pilot  myself, I wish I would’ve known he is flying. I always thought at some point we will circle back together and see each other again. I miss you so much, my friend, you were one of the all-time great ones. Love you, man!
