Edward (Eddie) Rothman was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 26,1941 to the late parents of Sylvia (Susie) Sack and Isidor (Issy) Rothman of Brooklyn, NY. Eddie and his sister Sandra (D) were both raised by a wonderful, loving, nurturing mother who adored them. He was educated through high school in NYC's public schools which were excellent at that time.
As a free-spirited young Jewish man Eddie began a lifelong passion in martial arts- building respect, self control, focus, stamina, strength, and speed he achieved an Certified Six Sigma - 6th Dan (degree) black belt in Taekwondo. Eddie was a National Rifle Association Member (NRA) his skilled rifle marksmanship engaged him in spirited competition with several National Rifle Trophy wins. Some might not know he played hockey as a forward on an AAA team in Brooklyn, NY.
Eddie love affair for Harley-Davidson started early in life from his first Fat Boy, Road King, and Screamin’ Eagle 110 to his many “sleeveless” Harley-Davidson shirts he collected over his 30+ year ride. His many contributions to various charities among his most passionate since 1992 Toys for Tot. His need for speed and love with muscle cars gave him the nickname “FAST EDDIE”. Throughout his many careers he's always been a larger than life character attracting many extended family and friends along the way.
His ability to make everyone feel comfortable, secure, and loved where his greatest strength. However, it was in Margate, FL while working as a civil servant for Broward County Transit, as a bus operator he met and married the “Love If His Life” his beautiful devoted wife Tralondra (Von) Rothman of Hollywood. Their happy and loving relationship lasted 12 wonderful years which their family and friends witnessed on enormous occasions throughout there amazing love journey. Eddie and Von both committed to “God” to always Love, Honor, Obey, Cherish through Sickness and in Health though Death due us part. In which his loving wife advocated. Eddie's valiant fight with the coronavirus came to an end. THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD Von and sister-in-law Sonja were allowed a Compassionate Visit to the hospital ICU. There they were able with via FaceTime, to his daughters, be allowed to hold his hand, comfort him, and say good bye.
I never knew what real love and happiness was until we were married. Eddie was a strong man with a big heart, who never met a stranger. He loved to chat in line at the store, or joke with the people at the table next to him in a restaurant that they should save him some of their dessert. His love of life and his NEVER quit attitude was as well known as was his straight forward no nonsense approach to every situation. This made everyone who knew him feel loved and protected.
He leaves behind his much loved wife Tralondra (Von); Children: Barbara Rothman, Nathalie (Charles) Toefield, Eric Rothman; Stepdaughter: Christina Hall; Sister–in–law: Sonja Smith; beloved cousin: Ina Pinkney; Grandchildren: Vallen (Chris) Buracker, Samantha (Matt) Carey, Elizabeth Matteson, Eric Jr., Julianne, Jason; Great Grandchildren: Nykolas Ludwigsen, Brantley Carey, Isabella Neblock, nieces and nephews. Beloved extended family David and Virginia (Ginny), and great friends.
Eddie was loved and will be deeply missed by so many more who loved and cherished his friendship.
