Donald Gene McCord

Donald Gene McCord, 73, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida passed away on January 13, 2019 surrounded by his family. Donald was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri on February 26, 1945 to Olin and Thelma McCord. He graduated from Esther High School in 1963 and attended Flat River Junior College before following his high school sweetheart Emily Klober to Fort Lauderdale where they would marry and raise two daughters. Donald served on the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department for 27 years, retiring as a Driver-Engineer. Don never met a stranger, had a wonderful sense of humor and deep love for his family.

Donald was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife of 49 years, Emily Klober McCord. He is survived by his daughters Cynthia Oldano (John) and Tiffany Gnisci (Anthony) and his grandchildren, John, Matthew, Sophia and Anna. Donald is also survived by his sister Barbara Rosener (James), brother Leslie McCord, and his twin brother David McCord (Karen) along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2:00 to 3:00 at the Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308. Donald's memorial service will commence at 3:00 immediately upon the conclusion of visitation at the funeral home.
