Daniel Jeremiah Rios

Daniel Jeremiah Rios known as DJ was born at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan to Hiram and Elizabeth Rios on September 22, 1999. He was born three months early after a women’s retreat and was just early with nothing wrong until hospital negligence changed everything.

Daniel Jeremiah Rios is survived by his loving family Samuel Rios, older brother, and parents, Hiram, and Elizabeth Rios.

The family of Daniel Jeremiah Rios wishes to extend our sincere thanks to DJ’s private nurses for the last 15 years Jennifer Lewin and Isolyn Walters and the nurse from Vitas that was on call when DJ passed, Nurse Johnson. They would also like to thank the nurses, doctors and respiratory therapists on the 3rd and 4th floors of Memorial Hospital Miramar and of the neurological division at Memorial Miramar, special thanks to Pulmologist, Dr. Zael Vazquez of Pulmonary Care Clinic for the amazing care and compassion shown to DJ, and to the members of Cruciform and Primitive Christian Church for their prayers especially Pastora Viggie and las ancianas on the Thursday night calls who kept DJ in their prayers for years. And of course, their family and friends who were the village that leaned on in the ups and downs of the last 23 years.

Celebration of life services will be held 6 PM – 9 PM Monday, September 26, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Marc Rivera of Primitive Christian Church in NYC, officiating.
