Allan Ephraim Romesser

Allan Ephraim Romesser, age 37, was called back to his heavenly home on October 13, 2017 after a car accident on his way to guard duty for the Naval Reserves. He was born July 6, 1980 in Indiana to Mark and Paula Romesser.

Allan was an unsung hero to everyone, especially his young children, Evangelina and Andrew, who were his whole world. Making time for others was never too hard for Allan. He spent his time working hard for his family, keeping in touch with grandparents, and losing himself in the service of others—most recently the victims of Hurricane Irma. Allan was loyal, selfless, forgiving, and patient. He sacrificed everything to provide for his family, whom he loved with all his heart.

In his free time he could be found out on the water in his sailboat, photographing nature, or building Legos with his son, Andrew. As a father, he set the bar high. He was long-suffering, patient, kind, and a professional tickle monster. He was creative, especially when it came to fixing things with duct tape and creating new kinds of sandwiches. As a natural-born MacGyver, he could fix anything.

He had a quiet, loving nature that endeared him to all who met him. Allan loved God and lived a faith-filled, Christ-like life. His laugh, faith, never-give-up attitude, sweetness and “silliness” (according to his nieces and nephews) are what will be remembered most about him. Everyone can agree that he was easily the favorite daddy, favorite uncle, favorite brother, and favorite grandson.

Allan was welcomed home by his grandfathers Andrew Gerald Romesser and Ernest Paul Peterson.

He is survived by: his sweet children Evangelina and Andrew, their beautiful mother Marinda Dennis; his parents Mark and Paula Romesser; siblings Aaron (Jill), Nathan (Diane) and Emily (Tyler); his many nieces and nephews; and grandmothers Ruth Romesser and Henriette Peterson. A special thanks to Marlie Nava, for lighting up the end of his earthly life.

Funeral services will be held at 1100 South West 15th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312 on Friday, October 20th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. A second service—including a graveside service—will take place in Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
