Nancy was born in International Falls, Mn. on April 20, 1936.
Nancy grew up in Fort Frances attending school and completing her high school at Balmoral Hall in Winnipeg. A short time later, Nancy completed her professional training at Success Business College in Winnipeg.
Nancy’s business career included medical secretary and legal secretary. Nancy was most proud to hold an executive position with the federal government in Ottawa.
Nancy’s early active social life involved many friends in Fort Frances and raising a family with Doug Sleeman.
In 1984, Nancy was remarried to Yvon Chamberland. They spent the next 30 years skiing, living on a sailboat, and traveling across Canada in a trailer before settling in Ottawa.
Nancy enjoyed life, was a dreamer and had a great love of people and animals.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Rusty and Signe Green; her brother, Van Green, and his wife, Kathryn; and by both husbands, Douglas Sleeman and Yvon Chamberland.
Nancy is survived by her children, Susan, Jennifer, and John; her brother, Dr. Robert Green, and wife, Helen; special niece, Kathy; good friend, Joan Westover; and a number of nephews, nieces, cousins and grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held for Nancy on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Anglican Church.
