Marguerite was born on September 5, 1929 in Sudbury, Ontario to parents Art and Mae Williams.
On October 5,1949 Marguerite married the love of her life Gilbert Nephin in Malarctic, Quebec and they began a 71-year journey together. They had 3 children in Malarctic before moving to Atikokan in 1952. The family continued to grow and 4 more children joined them after settling in Atikokan. Gil and Marguerite built a family business together, Gil’s Furniture and Appliances.
Marguerite’s greatest joy in life was raising her children and that joy grew with the addition of grandchildren and great-children. While raising her family, Marguerite was involved with many local organizations, CWL, Girl Guides of Canada, Atikokan Dance Club, The Atikokan Curling Club, Atikokan Golf Club, Legion Ladies Auxilary- having just received her 30 years of service pin, and supported Gilbert as a member of Kiwanis.
Marguerite and Gilbert loved life at the lake. They owned cottages at Niobe Lake and Fire Lake before settling at Warner Lake, in 1977. In 1995 they retired from the store to live full time at the lake. While she treasured the peace and tranquility of lake life, nothing made her happier than when the place was filled with family and friends. With 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and all of their loving partners, Lot #7 Warner Lake was often found to be filled with laughter, love and great memories, all under the watchful loving eyes of Marguerite.
Marguerite is survived by her husband of 71 years Gilbert, her 7 children Kenneth (Deanne), Michael (Emma), Debbie (Armin), John (Mary), Cindy (Larry), Arthur, Jacqueline (Albert), 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, sister Teresa of Val D’Or Quebec and brother Eddie of New Brunswick.
