KELLI (KYE) LEANNE MORRISON

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kelli Leanne Morrison – 29 years of age from Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation. Kelli was born in Fort Frances Ontario on July 9, 1989 and passed away on February 2, 2019 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Kelli will be deeply missed by her parents Tammy Morrison, Dianne Kelly & Vincent Kelly Sr. Her brothers Vincent Jr. (Jenny), Clayton Kelly (Bonnie), Quinton Tom & Isaiah Collins. Her sisters Vanessa Tom (Jamie), Summer Jim & Kayla Morrison (Steve). Nephews Shane Kelly (Latisha), Seth Kelly, Jonathan Thompkins, Vincent Kelly III, Carter Herbert, Zaiden Herbert, Quillan Bob & great nephew Levi Crow. Nieces Amber Thompkins (Evan), Treasure Thompkins, Clair Kelly and Audrina Copenace as well her special friend Craig Lavand & numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.
Kelli is predeceased by her grandparents Norman & Victoria Andy of Big Grassy First Nation & Edward and Dorothy Kelly of Onigaming, her aunties Isabelle Andy & Serena Andy, her uncles Edward Kelly Jr. & Roland Shebagegit.
Kelli was pursuing her dreams and education in Health & Nutrition in Vancouver. She loved traveling, cooking, being outdoors, exploring, learning new things, going out with friends and spending time with family. She was always determined to have a good time and make every day enjoyable. She encouraged everyone endlessly. Kelli was notoriously known as being charismatic, loving, hilarious, witty, charming, adventurous, bold, free spirited, optimistic, forgiving, full of life, supportive and encouraging, Kelli was very captivating, the list seems endless. Kelli was raised to be strong anishinaabeikwe. Kelli grew up to develop a strong connection with everyone within her community. Kelli was very proud to be a member of Onigaming. The presence of Kelli lives on in many surrounding areas, provinces and states. She was deeply loved, is missed and will always and forever be cherished. Kelli, our “Kye & Kali” as she liked to be called, was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend & cook like no other.
Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Thompkins, Edmund Allan, Jamie Kelly, Trevor Copenace, Shawn Kelly, Miles Kelly, Makwa Copenace & Craig Lavand.
Honorary pallbearers are Kelli’s life long sister-friends Sarah Copenace, Megan Bob, Karmyn Copenace, Erin Bob, Margaret Copenace, Nicole Arch, Kimberly Kelly, Donna Anderson, Ashley Kelly & Miranda Kelly including many others.
Wake Services on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 at 1:00pm and the funeral will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, February 14th, 2019, at the Mikinaak Gymnasium in Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation. Traditional services officiated by Ron Mandamin.
