Helen was born in Port Arthur, Ont., on April 9, 1926, to Wilfred and Ellen Radford. She was united in marriage to Roy Forsythe on July 29, 1944. They settled in Fort Frances spending almost 65 years together until his passing on June 4, 2009.
Helen was also predeceased by her parents; brothers Harvey, Roy and Richard; and sisters June and Marie.
Helen is survived by her son Tim (Susanne) Forsythe of Winnipeg, Man., and her daughter Wendy (James) Seeley of Dryden, Ont.; her five grandchildren (Carrie, Tracey, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Jaime); and her five great-grandchildren (Jacee, Izaac, Kloe, Jacobi and Sasha).
Helen is also survived by her sister Rita (Gerald) Forsythe of International Falls, Minn., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen worked at Safeway in Fort Frances for many years as well as the Fort Frances Clinic and Liquor Control Board.
She was a member of the Royal Purple and after her retirement she enjoyed the monthly get togethers with the ladies from Safeway. She was an avid reader and spent many hours knitting, crocheting and doing needlepoint creating beautiful keepsakes for the family.
Cremation has taken place and as per her wishes, no funeral service will be held. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
