Frank was born on December 15, 1934 in Blue Township to Harry and Anny Wolanicki. Frank married Janet King (Pinewood) on January 16, 1959 and resided in Rainy River, Ontario.
He was employed with the Canadian National Railway and was a dedicated employee during his 38-year career. He began his career in Churchill, Manitoba, shoveling coal on the steam engines and retired as an Engineer in Rainy River, Ontario. The work was hard, but he was grateful he passed his exam and had employment.
Frank was a family man, whether it was sneaking chocolate to grandchildren or camping with his children, they meant the world to him. He was grateful and appreciated everything that was done for him. He often commented that “he didn’t know what he would do without his family”. He ended every phone call and good-bye with an “I love you”.
Frank also enjoyed working alongside his brother Stan and brother-in-law Louis doing whatever needed to be done (move a house, pour a basement, shingle a roof or cut down a tree). “Hard Luck Construction” company kept him busy when he was “off for miles”. He was a valued member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 54 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. Frank had a great sense of humor always had a joke for every occasion.
Frank leaves behind his wife of 60 years Janet, children Sandra (Curtis) Berg, Allan (Susan) Wolanicki, Diane Adams (Phil Thompson) and Karen (Henry) Jackowski; grandchildren Darren (Danielle), Danielle (Jeremy), Jennifer (Steve), Alana (Scott), Alison (Shawn), Jaymeson, Zachary, Mitchell and Jordan; 9 great grandchildren; his brother and best friend Stan Wolanicki, sister Ruth Wolanicki and numerous nieces and nephews.
