Randall "Randy" Leo Womack died at his home in Westchester, IL on December 3, 2023, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born on March 28, 1947, in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Young High School in 1965. Randy is survived by his five siblings - Scotty Womack, Bradley Womack and David Womack of Knoxville TN and Stanley Womack and Lynne Womack Williams of Bracey, VA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lonnie, his son Ryan and his parents, Horace and Frances Womack. Randy owned and operated the Mobil gas station in Berwyn, IL at 22nd and Riverside Drive.
In addition, he owned and operated the Sweet Spot Bar in North Riverside, IL. He was the past president of the Cicero Rotary Club and a longtime member of Riverside Presbyterian Church and Riverside Golf and Country Club.
As a result of his son’s death in 1990, Randy and Lonnie established the Ryan Womack Scholarship Fund. From 1991-2017, over $600,000 was raised and awarded to 179 recipients. Most recently, Randy was best known for his welcoming presence in his bar, The Sweet Spot, where we greeted one and all with his favorite saying - Hello Honey! Randy was an inspiration to many while he lived and remains an influence for good after his departure.
Randy’s memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in North Riverside, IL on January 4, 2024. Visitation will start at 9:30am with the service at 11:00am. Interment is private. The family will then host a luncheon in Randy’s honor at noon at the Riverside Golf and Country Club.
