Janice M. Cravens

She was a loving mother to Deborah (Bill) Simmons, and Brian; cherished grandmother to Brian, Lloyd, Joshua, Jonathan, Kameron, and Christopher; treasured great-grandmother to Aiden.

Janice attended and graduated Hyde Park High School in Chicago.

She worked for Provident Hospital for 30 years as well as Osteopathic Hospital in the Patients Accounts Office.

Janice was a dedicated choir member at her church. She also served in many other areas as needed with her church for more than 50 years.

Some of her pastimes were bowling, singing, organizing and most notably, past her retirement, planning vacation trips for large groups of friends and family. She has traveled to every state in the U.S. and internationally.

She will be best remembered for volunteering at her local senior center, being a social butterfly, a great friend to many and most importantly spending time with her children, son-in-law and her grandkids.

Wake will be Friday, October 18, 2024, from 10am to 10:30am at Greater Institutional A.M.E. Church, 7800 S. Indiana Ave., Chicago, IL 60619. Celebration of life to follow at 10:30am. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 7750 W. Cermak Rd, Forest Park, IL 60130.
