Craig A. Sedivy, 66, Of Westchester, formerly of Cicero and Berwyn, passed away Friday May 25, 2018 at home with family at his side. Husband of the late Christine M. Sedivy, nee Mazany.Craig was born on October 28, 1951 at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL to Otto and Mae Sedivy. Brother to Otto, Chuck, Larry and Bruce Sedivy. Step-brother to Miriam Hillerby and Laurie (Eric) Steinke. He Graduated from Morton East High School in 1969.
Proudly, Craig served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1971-1972 with the 87th Infantry Division. Upon coming home, Craig worked as an Operating Engineer with Local 150 for 35+ years. He took pride in the work he did. He would happily share details of his daily projects with his friends and family. Craig retired early to care for his wife Christine, whom he lost to cancer in 2013. He stayed by her side and loved her until her final day. He was a great man with a big heart who wouldn't hesitate to help anyone that asked.
Craig enjoyed hobbies including model trains, remote control airplanes and military model making. In recent years, he and his son would spend many weekend afternoons restoring their 1969 Oldsmobile. Craig is survived by his son Craig Jr, his daugher Kristen (Patrick) Burt, step-daughter Rachel (Mark) Lewandowski and his four grandchildren Declan, Margaret, Joseph (Burt) and Markie (Lewandowski) who he loved more than anything. Craig was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Mae, brother Bruce and step mother Mitzi.
