There are no words that can express my sorrow with the passing of my friend and neighbor Terry  Higgins. In life you rarely meet people who possess love and kindness for all.  Terry was that person.  From the first day we became her next door neighbor we felt the love of her family. Her pop Tomas was our son's best friend as a child . The two of them would chat and laugh in the back yard - an old man and a toddler having a great time in each other's company.  It made a lasting impact on our son.  Terry learned from her father and became that unique individual who loved life and all of God's children.  As a school principal she had a positive impact on the lives of many.  We got to know some of her students as she maintained friendships with them for years.  That is a sign of a great person - when friendships transend time.  I was not able to attend the wake or funeral due to my medical issue but she is in my thoughts and prayers. I recall all the good times talking politics, going to vote, then having a nice dinner somewhere.  We would chat in the back yard, drink a little wine and laugh a lot.  Terry Higgins toutched the hearts and souls of many and I will miss her greatly.  Her memories will linger with me and now she will be included in my daily prayers for those who passed.  She will be there with my mom and pop and my family and friends.  She had a positive impact in our family and will be always remembered.  She lives on in her family, her children and especially her grandchildren, who she loved so much.  May her soul rest in the peace and love of her Lord.  God bless you Terry Higgins and may the peace of Christ be with you always.

Over 35 years ago, we moved next door to the Higgins Family.  Terry baked us a "welcome-to-the-block" cake and we immediately realized what a great neighbor we had.  Some of my fondest memories include our marathon chats in the back yard. I doubt there was a topic we didn't discuss - and agreed on most (thank goodness we shared the same political views!) She shared her thoughts and concerns about her wonderful family, but, what came through the most was her love for and pride in them. Whenever you did something for her, she would call you her "angel" and always surprise you with a little angel trinket of one sort or another.  Now, she is the angel watching over all of us. We miss you, Terry.
