John,
I want to thank you for being my instructor when I started with the Service. You not only were a great instructor but a great person who made learning a wonderful experience! You always came in with a beautiful and genuine smile and spirit.
You will be missed, John. Hopefully we get to meet again in the big classrooms in sky.

I first met John at work when I was about 22 years old. He was kind to me and always full of advice. He encouraged me to continue in college and not to let others keep me down. He was around the same age as my parents and I liked talking to him and listening to him talk about his kids of whom he was very proud of. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and hope that you will be comforted in the knowledge that he was well liked and will be missed by many.

I didn't work directly with John, but we worked on the same floor for a period of time.  He used to drop by our unit and converse with us quite often.  We even did some Outreaches together back in what we fondly refer to as the "good old days at the IRS".  

His family should be aware of what a light he was to others.  A kind and gentle soul that always had a smile to share with everyone.  He was quite beloved by those who knew him best, and fondly admired by those of us who didn't know him well.  I'm saddened to hear of his passing.  Although time can never heal all wounds, it is true that the pain of loss turns into beautiful memories. It is those memories of a smile, a hug, his laughter, and all the special moments which make up a lifetime that, in time, will diminish your grief and soothe your souls.

John was such a great guy and  good friend, first met him when he worked at Western Electric with my brother.  He was a kind and gentle man and was so good to my parents.  John touched the lives of so many and will be missed by all.  Sending love and prayers to Marilyn, her children and grandchildren.  Cherish your wonderful memories and know that he is now at peace with his sister and parents.
