It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregoria Narcisa Expósito, beloved wife of the late Alfonso Expósito. She left us peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Gregoria was a devoted mother to Maritza (Stephen) Meyers, Daisy Expósito-Ulla (Jorge Ulla), and Gemma Romillo. She was a cherished Mima to her grandchildren Leonardo (Rebecca) Meyers, Gabriel (Candace) Ulla, Martha (Jesus) Ramirez, and Alex (Jackie) Romillo, and adored as a great grandmother by Mateo Alfonso Meyers, Adrian Manuel Meyers, Jake Ramirez, Madison Ramirez, Marion Knowles, and Isabella Romillo.
Narcisa, as she preferred to be called (or Mima, a term of endearment she gained over the years),was the daughter of Adela Maria Crusat Garcés and Eusebio Crusat, and the dear sister of the late Abelardo Crusat Garcés. She was born in the town of Guines, Havana, Cuba.
Among her other surviving relatives are Lucy Zuazo, Maria Emma Pernas, her daughter Pamela, Mercedes Lamelas, her sons Peter, Joseph and Robert, Anna Maida, Maria Elba Gonzalez-Pacheco, Consuelo Rodriguez Pernas, Maria del Pilar Romero, Maria de Los Angeles Romero and their families.
Gregoria had a deep adoration for Our Virgin of Charity, La Virgen de la Caridad, the Patron Saint of Cuba, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
A woman of remarkable warmth, Gregoria loved her family dearly, cherished Cuban music, and had an incredible sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. Her love for life was infectious, and she always knew how to make others laugh. Gregoria also had a special love for the sun and the beach, where she found both peace and happiness. Her energy, spirit, and joy for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Gregoria’s legacy of love, laughter, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
The family of Gregoria will be receiving visitors on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Monday, December 23, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 13676 41st Ave, Flushing, NY 11355. An entombment will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, Flushing, NY 11365.
