Doris Irene Schwenzer was born on March 27, 1928 in Maspeth, NY, to Valerie (Carbonneau) and Nicholas Sarne. She was the beloved sister of her big brother Norman, who passed away last October, and into whose arms Doris was welcomed when she, too, went home to our Lord on April 13, 2019.
A gifted seamstress and avid puzzle maker, Doris’ talents were many, yet she found her greatest joy in her three daughters, Doris, Barbara and Georgiann, her six grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Doris was married to Kenneth for 49 years and tirelessly cared for him in his final days. Her love, patience and kindness knew no bounds and formed countless bonds across generations, within her family, and with all those whose lives she touched.
Although tiny in person, her spirit was mighty. Doris’ smile could light up the darkest space, her voice could soothe the greatest hurt, her sweetness could heal the deepest wound. Her strength and faith made you believe that all things were possible, and that love never dies. All those who knew Doris, know this to be true.
