Deborah Rosenberg of Flushing, 67, widow of David Rosenberg and mother of Aimee and Corey Rosenberg, passed away on Saturday morning, October 15, unexpectedly. In addition to her children, she is survived by her two sisters, Emily Rowley of Brookfield, CT, and Barbara Mora of Danbury, CT and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by brothers’ Sam and Earl, and sister Peggy.
Deborah graduated from Albany State in 1971 and received a Master’s degree from St. Johns University. She was a math teacher in special education for 25 years, tutored many students on her own time and also taught adult education for prisoners at Rikers Island for many years. She served many years as a union representative to advocate for her fellow teachers.
When her husband was alive, they enjoyed membership in Porsche owners clubs and participated in many road rallies.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 11AM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY. The family requests attendees to wear any New York Mets paraphernalia they possess, to be fan for a day in Deb’s memory. Several hats, t-shirts, etc will be available that day, so please do not buy anything.
