He was born on August 19, 1951 in New York City. He was the youngest of four. He was
our little brother. He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, his big sister Faye and
his big, big brother Alvin (Faye's husband). He is survived by his brothers Willie (Era)
and Richard (Yim). He is survived by nieces and nephews Karen (Tommie), Michele
(Peter), Jennifer (Richard), Tiffany (William), Jessica (Robert), Lauren (Jonathan),
Matthew (Priscilla), and Nicholas (Kristine). He is survived by grandnephews and
grandnieces, Kimberly (Andrew), Caitlin (Vianney), Alissa, Jonathan, Eric, Jason,
Cameron, Dylan, Nathan, Zachary, Benjamin and Charlotte. He will be sadly missed.
Bucky was his name while growing up in our household. He was a gregarious kind of
guy, who loved to party and have a good time. After graduating from William Cullen
Bryant High School, he moved to Connecticut to attend Hartford Institute. He later
graduated with his BA majoring in Accounting. He worked for Travelers Insurance for
over 40 years. He then retired to a life of leisure, golfing, bowling, playing blackjack and
traveling.
In his teenage years he was an avid pool player. Later in his adult years, he loved
bowling and was very accomplished. He could bowl a 700 series fairly often. He also
loved to golf with his buddies but gambling was his passion. He apparently was a smart
gambler. He always told us of the perks of gambling, such as getting comps for dinners,
shows and hotel rooms. Great tips!
He was a generous and very caring person. When it came to his nieces and nephews,
he really knew how to spoil them. We fondly remember his fried turkeys on
Thanksgiving (usually made extra for us to take home), his summer family barbecues,
steamed or stirred fried blue crabs with garlic, ginger, oil sauce and who can forget
when he played Santa during the holidays. He loved playing mahjong with his sister
Faye and Dad. Bucky's odds would be better at the casinos than winning against them!
Bucky may not be here, but his loving heart left a beacon of light for all.
