ZAPATA, Wilford M. – Age 86, of Flint, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice. Mr. Zapata was born October 12, 1926 in Omar, Michigan the son of Cresceneio and Sidonia Zapata. He served his country with the U.S. Army during W.W.II and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Wilford worked for General Motors and was a member of U.A.W. Local 659. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his brother, Catalino (Sadie) Zapata; nieces, Gailene (John) Adams and family, and Roxann Boisclair and family; many step-children and their families; special step-daughter and caregiver, Mary Ann Gatica. Mr. Zapata was preceded in death by his first wife Concha Pantoja Zapata and his second wife, Maria Gatica Zapata and an infant daughter at birth. Friends may visit the family from 11 to 1 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday at Church.
