Our beloved father, Ronald Eugene Dipzinski, passed away on December 4, 2021. He was born in Flint, Michigan on January 3, 1932, to parents Raymond and Stella (Gorecki) Dipzinski. At a young age he and his family relocated to his grandparent’s farm in Dover Township, Michigan. There he learned to work the family farm. He also learned to hunt, fish and play baseball quite well. He developed a great love for northern Michigan and would forever remain homesick.
In 1953 Dad wanted to marry so he moved back to Flint to work for Buick. On May 16, 1953 Dad married Mom, Shirley Christian. Together they raised three daughters and remained married for 62 years until Mom’s death in 2015. Dad had worked for Buick for 40 years but during factory layoffs he would take whatever work was available to support his family. There wasn’t much that Dad could not do. He logged, he worked in masonry and construction. He took great pride in being self sufficient in many things. He even built our family home.
Over the years Dad enjoyed many hobbies. He loved music and he played the accordion, the guitar, the spoons and the organ. He was an avid bee keeper for many years. He excelled at woodworking and for decades kept a lovely garden. Dad was an excellent card player. In later years he picked up sudoku and chess. He also loved working with his daughters on ancestry. His memory was flawless as he recounted many facts and stories to add to our family tree.
On July 14, 1962 Dad was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He found fulfillment in serving as a congregation elder for many years. He loved to talk about God’s word and his faith in Bible promises never wavered. He made many dear and lasting friends that he would cherish. Dad was always a stable father. He taught his daughters to do their own scriptural research and maintained a moral and ethical example. He loved his children and did his level best to protect us from harm for which we will always be grateful. He will be so missed as a father, grandfather/great grandfather, and a dear friend.
His daughters would like to thank everyone who showed love and support to Dad during his difficult final years. We thank everyone who also physically helped with the repair and/or upkeep of his properties when his abilities failed him.
Dad was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley. He was also preceded by his parents Raymond and Stella, his baby brother Raymond, and his beloved brothers James and Patrick. He was also preceded in death by brothers in law Raymond Moorehead, Samuel “Lonnie” Jones, Franklin Christian, and Emilio Quiroz.
