John Anthony Diaz

John Anthony Diaz 69 of Palm Coast FL formerly of Boca Raton FL passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 in Advent Health Palm Coast. He was born on April 10, 1951 in San Lorenzo PR a son of the late Antonio and Dionisia de Jesus Diaz. A retired sergeant for the Broward County Sheriff’s office, Mr. Diaz was a veteran serving in the US Army. He enjoyed all things Cleveland, the Browns, The Indians and the Cavaliers. He was proud of where he grew up. He also loved trains and to travel. Mr. Diaz was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Broward Sheriff’s Retiree Group and the Vauban Hausen Military Group. Surviving are his wife of 48 years Miriam Diaz, his daughter, Toni-Marie Diaz-Mathis, his grandson, Rueben Antonio Mathis, two sisters Andrea Nieves of Clermont FL, Lydia Nevron of Christmas FL, four brothers, Luis Diaz and Raymond Diaz both of Cleveland OH, Felipe Diaz of St. Cloud FL and Marcos Diaz of Titusville FL. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22 from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach. Interment with Military Honors will be at 1:00 PM in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims FL. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed during the visitation and the interment services.
