Henry passed away peacefully Monday, December 16, 2024 in Palm Coast, Florida. He was born on January 8, 1931 in Norwalk, Connecticut to Sophie and Henry Tucker. He graduated from Norwalk, High and went on to graduate college with a Master’s Degree in Engineering. He was also invited to play pro ball with the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1951, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Catherine.
They were married for 65 beautiful years. Their song – “Our Love is here to stay”. Henry was a veteran of the US Marine Crops serving in Korea, he was a decorated corporal and expert rifleman. He had the opportunity to move with his wife and 2 young sons to Italy where they visited multiple countries and had the time of their lives. Eventually moving to Massachusetts, into his dream home for his family. He enjoyed watching multiple generations enjoy his oversized pool and laughing and cheering the splashes off the diving board. Henry was a champion golfer and had 5 carded holes in one. He also enjoyed tennis and croquet in his yard. Watching golf and football. Doing the twist to Chubby Checker to his children’s delight.
Henry is survived by his sons and daughter. Terry and wife Virginia of Palm Coast, FL. Scott and Kathy with whom he so happily lived with for the last 3 years in Flagler Beach, FL. And a daughter, Allison Tucker Blood and husband Scott of Montgomery, MA. His grandchildren Bryan and Steven Tucker and Diana Blood, all of them were his pride and joy. Henry was a leader and deeply devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an unstoppable force and never slowed down. His integrity, honesty, strength, love and zest for life has been instilled on all of us.
We would like to thank the staff at Stuart Meyer Hospice for their care, comfort and compassion. We also would like to thank Rita for her care. We will miss you Dad, Grandpa. Our forever hero! Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
