Dena was the devoted wife of Chris Scalcione and beloved mother of Serena Scalcione. She grew up in Commack, New York and attended Commack North High School. Dena loved the outdoors including camping and skiing. Music was always a big part of her life. She loved a good rock concert.Dena married the love of her life, Chris, in February, 1999 on Long Island. Her daughter was born in June, 2001. Serena was her pride and joy. Dena, Chris, and Serena moved to Florida in 2003. Dena was loved by all that knew her. She was larger than life when she walked into a room. Dena had a large heart and was always there for you if you needed help. She was so intelligent and owned a few successful businesses in her short lifetime. Dena was an animal lover as well. She was an avid horseback rider in her younger years. Dena loved being with her dogs, Smudgie and Havoc. Besides her daughter and husband, her dogs were the light of her life. Dena is survived by her husband, Christopher Scalcione of Jacksonville FL., her daughter Serena Scalcione of Jacksonville, FL., her mother, Elaine Tanenbaum of Palm Coast, FL., her father Gerald (Felice) Tanenbaum of Palm Coast, FL., her brother Larry (Cheryl) Tanenbaum of Palm Coast, FL., her sister Cheri Tanenbaum of Palm Coast, FL., and many relatives and friends who loved and adored her.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Craig Palm Flagler Palms Funeral Home at 511 Old Kings Road S Flagler Beach, FL.
