Carol was born in Pasadena, California in 1928 to Beata Amelia Ziemer and Clarence Ray Hildreth, their second of four children. The family moved to Redlands, California when Carol was a toddler. There, Carol attended kindergarten through high school in the idyllic small southern California university town where roller skating, volleyball and summer days in Sylvan Park were her favorite past times.
With encouragement from her parents, Carol became a proficient violinist, playing in school orchestras through her college years at Simpson Bible College in Seattle, Washington. It was there she met her husband of 75 years, Robert Francis Schwab.
After their June 4th, 1949 wedding, Carol and Robert moved to Salem, Oregon where they raised their four children. They resided in Portland area from 1965 until 2022, when they moved to Palm Coast, Florida to be near their daughters.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings; Dorothy, Naomi and Raymond and a great-great granddaughter, Savannah Grace. She is survived by her husband, Robert and her four children Kenneth Schwab, Kathy Rickey (Ken), Darlene Kargel (Brian), Douglas Schwab (Tracy), eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The service and burial are at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida on Wednesday, November 27th at 1:30 PM.
