Born November 29, 1945, and passed away December 4, 2022, after a long illness and just as he wanted (because he’s Paw and he always gets his way): at home, with his family, a chew in his mouth, watching ball games on TV.
He was a huge sports enthusiast, and everyone knew not to ask him about sports! He would talk your ear off and argue any and all stats. He played sports, coached sports, watched any kid who called him Paw play sports, and loved watching games and doing brackets with his Gino friends.
Even though he may have seemed like a grouchy old man, those who knew him know he rocked, read to, mentored and cared for nearly every kid in Fayette County. He has traveled to paint homes for his kids, build decks and flooring, and babysit. He would do anything for anyone who asked (well, anything except get a cell phone or call anybody).
He and his wife never took a vacation alone, they always had kids or grandkids with them. He was also the most amazing crabby Santa ever. He loved shopping and doing what he could for everyone, but would still complain about having to wake up early to open gifts.
We aren’t going to try and list all of his family members, kids, grandkids or great grandkids. So many people loved him and called him Pops or Paw, and we would never want to leave anyone who meant so much to him out. You all know who you are! He loved his family and they always came first. He was a proud son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa and will be missed by so many.
Paw’s wishes were to be cremated and he didn’t want a service … you better believe we're doing as we were told! There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
A huge thank you from our family to his Hospice team and all who loved him, came by, sent messages, and made his life perfect!
