William (Bill) Edward Pearson, 89, of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1933, in Warren County, Virginia.
Immediately after high school, Bill joined the United States Army and went on to serve as a Diesel Mechanic from 1952 to 1973. He completed his military service at the rank of Master Sargent. While serving his country, Bill served tours of duty in both the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. Throughout his 21 years of service in the Army, he was awarded numerous medals and commendations, including two Bronze Stars.
After retiring from the Army, Bill went on to have a long and successful career as a Bus Mechanic and Parts Manager for Prince William Public schools in Stafford, Virginia. He always considered his work colleagues to be part of his extended family.
Bill enjoyed traveling, going to sprint car races, and watching sports. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, through the good years as well as the bad. Bill spent many years traveling abroad during his military service years. Later in life, he continued to enjoy touring the country and spending time with family.
Bill is survived by his partner in life of 23 years, Mary Hammond, sisters Joyce Marlow and Lula Mae Marlow (both of Front Royal, VA), and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 30+ years, Yasuko Ann Pearson, sister June Husband (Stephens City, VA), and brothers Ken Allison (Stevenson, VA), Roger Allison (Front Royal, VA), and Douglas Allison (Front Royal, VA).
The family will receive friends from Noon-2:00pm on Saturday, January 7, 2022, at Murphy’s Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St., Falls Church, VA. Funeral to follow at 2pm.
Interment will be held on Monday, January 9, 2022, at 10:30am at Quantico National Memorial Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd., Triangle, VA.
