Thomas Joseph Murphy

On July 20th, Thomas Murphy peacefully passed away at home, hand in hand with his beloved wife, Ann. A faithful and devoted family man, Tom is survived by his wife Ann, 7 children (James Brent, Carroll Walker, Mary Murphy, Thomas and Laura Murphy, Margaret and Michael Gorman, Patricia and Christopher Dieter and Katherine Murphy) and 19 grandchildren. Tom worked as a chemist at NBS/NIST for 39 years and was devoted to the Gonzaga 44 Club, the K of C, and anything Irish. Though greatly missed, we know that he is now re-united with his brothers (Francis, Maurice, and Paul) and sister Mary who preceded him in eternal rest. Most certainly, there is now more laughter in heaven. The wake will be held at Murphy’s Funeral Home, 1102 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA, on July 23 from 5pm to 8 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm on July 24 at St. James Catholic Church.
