Sue Gibson Duncan Hall, 74, of Punta Gorda, Florida went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 17, 1938 in Waynesville, N.C. to Ragga J. Duncan and Evelyn G. Duncan. Sue married Edgar W. Hall June 26, 1958 and they had three Children. Sue and Ed moved to Punta Gorda in 1994 after spending 32 years in Haymarket, Virginia. She was a kind, caring woman who loved homemaking and cooking. She served as team mother for little league teams her two sons were involved with along with being PTO President of the elementary school that all three attended. Sue retired from Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative in Manassas, VA in 1994 and again from the City of North Port, FL in 2007.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Edgar; a daughter, Cathy Baldwin of Pelham, AL; 2 sons, Chris and Kirk Hall both of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Cecile Folan of Fredericksburg, VA and Carey Hess of Charlottesville, VA; a brother, Julian Duncan of San Antonio, TX; 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Chelsea, Turner, Ashley and Trent; 5 great-grandchildren, Heidi, Cassidy, Lilly, Sam and Jackson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, a nephew John and a niece, Julie.
A visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway Falls Church, VA 22042. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail, Unit C-2 Port Charlotte, FL 33953 or go online to www.cancer.org.
