Shirley was born in Altoona Pa to Ruth Louther/Parker on August 13, 1934. She graduated High School in Colonial Beach Va and moved to Sibley hospital In Washington D.C. where she obtained a degree in nursing. It was in Washington D.C. that Shirley met her husband, Willard Owens. They were married November 9th 1956. They lived in Washington D.C. and eventually moved to Fairfax Va.
She worked as a Registered Nurse at various Hospitals and Medical Care facilities until she took the job of Head of Occupational Health at Navy Federal Credit Union where she worked for 25 years until retiring.
Shirley is survived by her three sons, Gray, Gary, and Mark , 10 grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 14th, at 10:00 am, directly preceding the funeral services.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 14th, at National Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Va. 22042. Burial will follow at National directly following the funeral services.
