Ruth K Clark

The beloved wife of the late Robert E. Clark, Ruth Kannianen Clark passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at age 93. Ruth was a native of Gilbert, Minnesota and a long-time resident of Arlington, Virginia. Her chosen career in teaching spanned 38 years. She retired in 1983 after spending the last 20 years of her career teaching at Nottingham Elementary in Arlington County, Virginia. Proud of her Finnish heritage, she was loving and caring for family and friends. She and her husband Bob enjoyed traveling to exotic places. She was the daughter of the late Arvie and Celia Kannianen of Virginia, Minnesota, sister to the late Leonard Kannianen, aunt to Christopher and the late Nancy Kanian and great aunt to Christopher, Timothy, Gregory and the late Andrew Kanian. Ruth is survived by many loving family members and friends. Friends are invited to the funeral to be held on Saturday, June 4 at National Funeral Home at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA. Viewing begins at 9:30 am and the service will start at 10:00 am followed by a reception at the funeral home.
