Mulugeta Andualem

Mr. Mulugeta Andualem, 86, passed away on October 8, 2024 at his home in Arlington, VA. Mr. Mulugeta was born May 27, 1938 in Jojjam, Ethiopia. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Andualem Ayana and Shashitu Asrese. After he studied at Debre Markos High School, he graduated from General Winget Higher Education in Addis Ababa. He worked in the Ministry of Education until he received a scholarship to study in the United States.

Mr. Mulugeta's educational journey included notable years spent at the University of Michigan where he expanded his horizons and prepared for his future career in public service, later earning a PhD in Economics.

Mr. Mulugeta dedicated much of his professional life to the State Department Foreign Services Institute, contributing significantly to teaching and international relations until his retirement.

Mr. Mulugeta is survived by his loving family, including his daughter Cheryl (Bill) White, whom he affectionately called Mecasha, son, Abateneh (Genet) Mulugeta, along with his cherished grandchildren April (Jermaine) Cox, Brandon White, Eden and Henock, great grandchildren, Xavier, Braxton and Bellamy, nephew Haileyesus (Atetegeb) Yizengaw, Mahder Haile and Macky Haile, caregivers Sofia Jemel and Seble Wolday, and numerous colleagues and friends.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 38 years, Yvonne Andualem and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Andualem Ayana and Shashitu Asrese. He was an avid animal lover and had a special bond with his late cat Saba.

Mr. Mulugeta's life was marked by a profound commitment to his family and his career leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with and loved. His legacy will be remembered and honored by all who knew him.

የአቶ መሉጌታ አንዷለም የህይወት ታሪክ

አቶ መሉጌታ ከአባታቸው ከአቶ አንዷለም አያና እና ከእናታቸው ወ/ሮ ሻሽቱ አሽረሌ በጎጃም

ደብረማርቆስ ግንቦት 19 ቀን 1934 ዓ.ም.ተወለዱ። ከሶሰት ወንድሞቻቸው ጋር በፍቅር በአካባቢው በሚገኘው ትምህርት ቤት እየተማሩ አደጉ።ከዚያም ወደ አዲስ አበባ ዊንጌት ትምህርት ቤት ተምረው፤ ትምህርት ሚኒስቴር ተቀጥረው የማሰተማር ሥራቸውን ይሰሩ ነበር። ለተወሰነ ጊዜም በውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር ውሰጥ አገልግለው በአገኙት የውጭ ትምህርት እድል ወደ ዩናይትድ እሰቴት አሜሪካ በመምጣት ሚሽገን ዩኒቨርስቲ ገብተው ትምህርታቸውን ተከታትለው ወደ ሥራ በመሰማራት በተለይ በሰቴት ዲፓርትመንት የውጭ ጉዳይ ግልጋሎት በማሰተማር እና በመምራት አርባ (40) ዓመታት በማገልገል በጡረታ ጨርሰዋል።

አቶ መሉጌታ ከወ/ሮ ኢቫን ጃክሰን ጋር በጋብቻ ለረጅም አመታት አብረው ኑረው እርሷ ነሐሴ 3 ቀን 2014 ዓ.ም (እ.ኤ.አ) ከዚህ አለም በሞት ስትለይ ቀሪውን አሥር (10) ዓመት ብቻውን ሲኖር ቤተሰቦቹም በአካባቢው በመሆን የሚያሰፈልገውን እርዳታ እና ድጋፍ፦

• የአባቴነህ ሙሉጌታ ቤተሰቦች ገነት ጫላ እና ልጆች ሄኖክ እና ኤደን

• ሽር መካሻ ቢል፣አፕሪል(ኤርሚያስ) ኮክስ፣ብራንደን ዋይት ፣ዛቪየር ብራክሰተን ቤላሚ

• ኃይለእየሱስ ይዘንጋው እና ቤተሰቡ አትጠገብ መህደርና ማርኪል

• እንዲሁም ሶፍያ ጀማል፣ሰብለ ወልዳይ፣ ቪክቶርያ እና ሌሎችም ጓደኛና ዘመዶች ሲረዳ ቆይቶ ከዚህ ዓለም ወደ ፈጣሪው እና አምላኩ ተሰብስቧል።

አቶ መሉጌታ ሰው አክባሪ፣እንግዳ ተቀባይ ፣ ሰው ወዳድ፣ ለህጻናት እና ለእንሰሳት የተለየ ክብር ያለው የገጠር ባህሉን ፣ስራውን እና አገሩን አክባሪ ማዳመጥን የሚወድ ትሁት ሰው ነበረ። ይሁንና ጊዜው ደረሰና ወደማይቀርበት ስለሄደ ለቤተሰቦች ትልቅ ተፅእኖ ቢኖረውም በፍቅር እየታሰበ ይኖራል።
