Matthew Scott Isakowitz, beloved son of Monica and Steve Isakowitz. Loving brother of Jennifer, Rachel, and Sophie. Devoted grandson of Vera and the late Paul Isakowitz, Elaine and the late Irving Baker, and Mike Sponder and Ann Lewis. Adored nephew and cousin. Matthew was a kind, generous, wise, and compassionate person whose smile and humor lit up the room. He was deeply committed to his family, friends, and his Jewish faith. His extensive research into his family’s genealogy will be treasured for generations. He received an Advanced Studies Diploma from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University with a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and earned a Masters Degree in International Science and Technology Policy from George Washington University. Passionate about space exploration, Matthew found inspiration in Carl Sagan’s words, "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." Matthew’s invaluable contributions to the field of commercial spaceflight included working at Astranis, Planetary Resources, the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, Space Adventures, SpaceX, and the XPRIZE Foundation. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
