Kathy Nguyen

Kathy Nguyen, age 77, of Springfield, Virginia passed away on Tuesday May 7, 2019. Kathy was born May 19, 1941. Kathy is survived by her children and grandchildren: Son Jeremy Le, and his wife Cam-Duyen Nguyen and grandson Justin Le; Daughter Christine Le and her husband Charles Senor; Daughter Teena Le and grandson Kevin Chau

Kathy was born and raised in Vinh Long, Vietnam and lived in Saigon where she worked as a Nurse’s assistant, got married and had three children. Kathy immigrated to the United States in April 1990 to be with her family whom previously escaped Vietnam in the 1983. Kathy lived in Rogers Arkansas from 1990-2001, she was naturalized and became a U.S. citizen in 1995 and also worked for a few major corporations/factories such as Emerson and Wal-Mart.

In the early 2001 Kathy moved to Springfield, Virginia to be with her son and daughters. She had taken care of her family and helped build their new house in 2004. Her favorite hobbies were travelling (Europe, Alaska cruise), visiting relatives and temples in Vietnam and eating Vietnamese food. During her lifetime, she also witnessed all of her children’s weddings and the births of her two grandchildren, Justin and Kevin.

In 2006 she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and the disease progressed to the point it took her life in May 2019. Kathy lived a full life taking care of her family, enjoying the time she had with her two grandchildren that made her content and happy. Kathy was there for all the highs and lows of her children’s lives and as her children gather for Kathy’s memorial service on Saturday May 11, which is a testament of how much we all love and miss her dearly. Rest in peace Mom!

A visitation and prayer service for Kathy will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. A ceremonial cremation will take place following the visitation and service at 2:00 PM and all are invited.

The family requests no financial donation or memorial gift, however, flowers are welcome.
