IN THE CARE OF
Murphy Funeral Homes
Jaime Mendez, age 76, of Fairfax, Virginia passed away on November 2, 2017. He was born in Cochabamaba, Bolivia on September 17, 1941. He was a man of faith who followed the teachings of God and very devoted to the Virgin Mary. Jaime was a caring husband who loved his wife to the end, and an excellent father who taught his daughters the example of an honest life with high moral values. He was a very compassionate and charming person. Everyone loved him for his kindness, honesty, sincerity, generosity and respect for others. He was a soccer player who also loved boxing. Jaime felt that a person who practiced sports had a healthy body and, therefore, a healthy mind.
He was a tireless, thorough, and dedicated worker. His employers held him in high esteem. God granted him two of his desires: 1) that he predeceased his wife in death, as he loved her so very much and would not be able to endure losing her. 2) that he not have cardiac problems while driving his car as he did not want to cause the death of an innocent person. He was about to attend Mass at St. James when he suffered a cardiac arrest in the church.
A visitation will be on Friday, November 10, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA. A funeral Mass will be conducted Saturday, November 11, 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Falls Church, VA. Burial will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
