Hamid Khosrovi, 93, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2019. He is predeceased by his parents Astula Khosrovi and Nazhat Khosrovi and his two brothers and two sisters. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter Parri Marshall; granddaughters Ariel Waldman and Zahra Waldman; his niece Mansureh Rais; his nephew Ali Rafi, grandnieces Houra Rais and Maryam Hansen; and many other close family members and friends who loved him dearly. Hamid kept in touch with many relatives and extended relations in U.S. and around the world throughout his life.
Hamid was born in Tehran, Iran. He immigrated to the United States in the late 1940’s and became a US citizen soon after. He completed his studies in broadcasting communications and began to work for the Voice of America (Latin American division) at the United Stated Information Agency. Hamid served his government in this capacity for 51 years, retiring at age 85. Hamid was a devoted family man who supported and assisted many of his family members who later immigrated to the United States. He was an avid reader and followed U.S. and world politics with great interest.
A Memorial Gathering for Hamid will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 2pm at the National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.
