Doris Farmer Littman

Doris Farmer Littman, 88, of Burke, Virginia passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018. Doris is predeceased by her parents Philip and Sarah Grill; her beloved first husband of 36 years Clint Harlan; and her loving second husband of 10 years Herman Littman.
Doris was a wonderful woman who spent her life helping others. She joined the United States Army to work as a nurse after graduating from high school. Later, as a working mother, Doris was a school health aid for Montgomery County Health Department. She became a pre-adoptive foster mother with the Barker Adoption Foundation and provided care for nearly 30 newborn infants waiting for placement in their permanent homes. Later, she volunteered countless hours to the Widowed Persons Services.
Doris leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, Laura Hammel, Gordon Farmer (Jeanette), and Nancy Brockway (Alvin); her 7 grandchildren, Amanda Loesch (Jeremy), Daniel Hammel (Cari), Jeremy Hammel, Anthony Lowe (Shannon), Justin Farmer, Haley Brockway, and Dylan Brockway; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Doris will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 11 am (viewing from 10-10:30) at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042. Doris will be laid to rest with Herman at King David Memorial Gardens.
