DAVID G. FLANDERS On Thursday, December 29, 2022, David George Flanders went home to be with the Lord. He was the loving husband of Margaret W. Flanders, loving father of Scott Flanders (Karen) and Brett Flanders (Kate). David was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Flanders, and his first wife, Canzetta Dyer Flanders. David was Granddad to five wonderful grandchildren: Ginny (Joel), Abigail (Will), Lilly, Joe and Ally. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Buck and Ann Flanders, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Madge Mueller. David was born in Buffalo, NY on July 21st, 1941. A graduate of Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH, he received a Bachelor's degree and Law degree from the University of Cincinnati. He joined the FBI in 1966, and spent almost 30 years doing what he called "the best job in the world," before retiring from the Bureau in 1994 as Deputy Assistant Director. Post-retirement he conducted background investigations for the Federal Government. For the past 50 years, he was an active member of Columbia Baptist Church, in Falls Church, VA, serving as a loving teacher of many generations of teenagers. He was also an integral part of the music department, served as a deacon, and was even known to be called into service to drive the church bus. Services will be held on Monday, January 16 at 11 a.m. at Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church, VA.
