Coy Ward Harris

Coy Ward Harris, 78, of Alexandria, Virginia died peacefully at home on November 7, 2015. Coy, one of nine children, was born in Carthage, North Carolina, to Thomas and Catherine McKenzie Harris. He is survived by his siblings Lloyd Harris, Norman Harris, John Harris, and Ann McRae; he was predeceased by Charles Scarboro, Dorothy Lewis, Warren Harris and Ernest Harris.
After graduating from East Carolina University and Army service at Fort Meade in 1961, Coy married Frances Sheila Musci of Clarksburg, WV in 1963 and had two children, David and Michael. The lived in McLean, Virginia for 25 years while Coy worked as a Herff Jones yearbook representative and co-owner, with Sheila, of Victor O’Neill Studios. Shelia died in 1997 after a year –long battle with cancer.
Coy is survived by his wife of 14 years, Margaret Lunter Harris, his two sons, his step-son Michael Lunter and his grandchildren Oliver, Grace, Marguerite, Peter, Audrey, Luke, Caraline and Genevieve.
Family and friends whose lives Coy touched are invited to a celebration of his life at 2:00PM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Fairlington United Methodist Church, 3900 King Street in Alexandria, and afterwards to a reception at the Westin Hotel, 400 Courthouse Square in Alexandria.
