Alice Blumer

Alice Noble Blumer, 93, of Falls Church/Woodbridge, VA, passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2024 in Woodbridge, VA. Alice was born on December 7,1931 to James and Mabel Noble in Alexandria, Virginia. She graduated from McKinley Tech High School in Washington, DC, where she enjoyed cheerleading, singing in the choir and many other school activities. Alice then married her beloved high school sweetheart, Frederick Gordon Blumer, on April 7, 1951 in Arlington, Virginia. They moved to Falls Church and there they raised their three children.

Alice most loved being a devoted wife and mother. She spent many years caring for her husband who passed away in 1978 after a long illness. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Anita Heilberg and her beautiful granddaughter, Ashleigh Blumer Kohlitz. After raising her children and caring for Fred, Alice returned to work for the Central Intelligence Agency where she had a very successful 15 year career until she retired at age 65, when she could devote more time to her grandchildren and, subsequently, great-grandchildren. Alice and her husband, Fred were founding members of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Falls Church, VA, where she was a member of the choir, altar guild, church activities and women's clubs.

Alice is survived by her three children, Alice Lynn Day (Robert), James Gordon Blumer (Barbara), Robert Frederick Blumer (Cassandra), one sister Nancy Keller (George), eight Grandchildren - Jennifer Neimeyer (Patrick), Michael Day (Lindsey), Justin Day (Maria), Brett Blumer (Jessica), Allison Dumblauskas (Matthew), Katherine Blumer, Robert Blumer, Jr. (Paige) and nine Great Grandchildren - Austin and Aubrey Day, Samantha and Cameron Day, Caden Kohlitz, Quinn Blumer, Jack and Caroline Neimeyer, Emerson Dumblauskas and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, Falls Church, VA at 3241 Brush Drive, Falls Church, VA 22042 703-532-5656.

A funeral service for Alice will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Patrick's Episcopal Church, 3241 Brush Dr, Falls Church, VA 22042. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
