Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Orabelle (Brule) Blood she was a longtime resident of Fall River.
Norma worked for over 50 years at St. Anne’s hospital exceling in various roles such as Candy striper, Ob/Gyn Nurse’s Aide, Switchboard Operator and Emergency Room Ward Secretary. An Office Clerk at Arkwright Finishing, she was also a Teacher’s Aide at James Tansey Elementary School and upon her retirement, she spent several years in retail at Hickory Farms and Gymboree at Silver City Galleria and actually retired at the age of 89 after a 20 year career as a receptionist at the Truesdale Clinic.
A former member and past President of the Holy Name Women’s Guild, she was a Girl Scout Leader and a volunteer at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Above all, Norma will be remembered for love of family, her steadfast faith in God, her caring spirit and her kindness towards everyone she encountered in her life.
She is survived by two sons, J. Timothy Nicoletti and his wife Julie of Fall River and Edward T. Nicoletti, Jr. and his wife Sheryl of Whitinsville; five daughters, Ann Marie Nicoletti of Tiverton, Susan Curran and her husband Daniel of Smithfield, Joanne Riley of Norton, Cathleen Medeiros and her husband Paul of Dartmouth and Karen Kardoz and her husband John of Fall River; fifteen grandchildren, Rebecca Bessette and her husband Nicholas, Alison Lemay and her husband Jeffrey, Timothy E. Nicoletti, Daniel, Emily and Aubrey Curran, Brendan Curran and his wife Staci, Elizabeth and Theresa Riley, Alec and Ryan Medeiros, Tyler and Hannah Nicoletti, Gretchen Reynolds and her husband Jake and Nathan Desrosiers; five great grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas and Zachary Lemay and Nicholas, Jr. and Ella Bessette; and six nephews, Ken and Donald Day, Jim, Joe, Jude, Peter and Mark Nicoletti and Jim Correira. She was the sister of the late Gwendolyn Day, aunt of the late Jeff Day, Tom Nicoletti and Paula Nicoletti and mother-in-law of the late James Riley.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
